Jayne Decker

Jayne Decker is an award-winning Playwright and Director. Her most recent work, Uninvited, was a featured reading at the Maine Playwrights Festival, and her play, Through the Trees, an Elegy for Stage, is a finalist for the 2025 Maine Literary award for Drama. Her play, Duet, was chosen for production at Portland Stage Studio Theatre with Acorn Theatre’s Maine Playwright’s Festival in 2024. Other work includes, All the Good They Gave Us, winner of the Maine Literary Award for Drama in 2023. Her play, Migratory Birds, was a finalist for the Maine Literary Award for Drama in 2022 and Ruby Red, a moment in the life of was a finalist in 2021 and received a workshop reading at The Chocolate Church in Brunswick, ME with The Playwrights Collaborative. Earlier plays include the commissioned work, Cracked Shells for Peace in Our Families Domestic Violence Response Project, Good Medicine for Nicaragua’s Casa Materna through Women’s Empowerment Network; award-winning plays, Bridge, a story dedicated to Charlie Howard, Mother Fish, Stars Falling, and Songbird, a touring play produced for Brunswick Theatre Project, sponsored by Veterans for Peace.
